Green Spots on the floor...YUM!!

After a total and completely uneventful 4th of July, I decided it would be a good idea to start trying to get the twins (who will be 2 the day before Halloween) potty trained. I took their diapers off them, and went into Anal Annie mode about taking them to the potty every 10-15 minutes. Eden, boy...she didn't disappoint. She went potty almost every time, and was so excited to be sitting on the potty. Lexi LOVED sitting there, but only produced once. Then, it was on. I had just finished a trip with the girls to the potty, and decided to sit down on the couch for a minute. Lexi approached me and I started to smell something. I looked down at the blanket on the floor (THANK GOD the blanket was there!!), and it appeared as though Lexi had left a gift....and it wasn't one of the solid variety. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! It wasn't bad, and I was DETERMINED, come heck or high water, to get the girls used to potty training. So, after an hour or so of still taking the girls to potty every 15 mins. or so, Jeremy and I were sitting at the computer looking at houses, when Lexi came in to join us. Still naked, she started blubbering, and then let out a nice little girly fart...oh yes...girly farts....and just like that, Jeremy was gone (I should have known that wasn't a good sign), and I was stuck with the AWFUL green mess in the floor. It seemed as though my poor baby had diarrhea. Just my luck. That's what I get for letting my toddlers parade around in their birthday suits and thinking I am going to get them potty trained. Right?
So, I've learned that I can't rush potty training. It will happen when they're ready. The funny thing is, you'd think I'd know that already.
Thanks for reading!
Until next time...
