As stated in my profile, I am a reality TV junkie. And this week is going to be awful for me! Yes, two of my favorite reality shows are coming to an end. This is a blessing for my husband, as he believes he lives in reality television hell.
Tonight is the last set of performances for American Idol. Oh, how I love this show , and oh, how I will miss it! I just hope it goes well. Since last week didn't go so well for me (yes, I was a faithful Danny Gokey follower), I am not so sure how tonight will go! I'm sure it will be great, as long as Adam Lambert keeps his mouth SHUT! I know, not going to happen. I am putting all my energy into supporting Kris Allen this week, as he is the most genuine and deserving (in my opinion). It doesn't hurt that this kid has surprised EVERYONE and just keeps better and better with each passing week. I must admit, Kris's performance of Kanye West's "Heartless", left me breathless. He was AWESOME!
Another show, I'm sad to see come to an end is Dancing With The Stars, which will end tonight with the crowning of a new champ. The three finalists are actor Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke, Olympic Gymnast and Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas, and jilted Bachelor contestant, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. My favorite has been Melissa & Tony the entire show. I LOVE TONY, and I thnk it's time for him to get a trophy! And Melissa, she's just so cute. I just hope that their dancing was enough to get it. I loved it, but I don't know how everybody else felt about it.
In all this sadness though is a small glimmer of light. Yes, Jillian Harris premiered as ABC's 5th Bachelorette last night. She looks amazing, and I must say, she has some HOTTIES to choose from. Yes, my 2 faves so far, are Jake and Kiptyn. They are so handsome and seem so sweet. At the end of last night's premiere, they showed previews of what's to come this season. It looks juicy. Three guys supposedly have girlfriends, and 1 guy just wants to be the next Bachelor. Oh, the drama. I can't wait!
I guess my husband will just have to endure reality tv hell for one night a week instead of 4. I think he'll be just fine! Thanks for reading!
Until next time....

Is This SHEET Serious?
As I sit here typing this, I am in the process of doing one of my favorite chores (insert sarcasm here), and that is LAUNDRY. Yuck! And while taking the sheets off the beds, I am forced to contemplate one of my obsessions. I am a complete lunatic about my sheets. When I put the sheets on the bed, they have to be perfect, and even the pillow cases have to face the same direction. And when the sheets come off the bed in one spot in the middle of the night (always on my husband's side of the bed), I wake up like a bolt of lightning hit me and try to fix it. Even crazier is that I can't get back to sleep until it's fixed! I cannot sleep on a bare mattress (ICK!) ever since watching an episode of Oprah about germs around the house. She did a segment on dust mites that live in mattresses and pillows. Since that show, I have never been the same. I know it's a little over the top, but I just can't help it. My husband doesn't mind when the sheet comes off the bed. That man could care less about dust mites.
Another obsession of mine along the same lines as the husband and laundry, is socks! My husband always complains he can never find clean socks or underwear. Well, after 5 years of being together, I figured he'd be able to find the dirty clothes hamper. After picking his clothes up for such a long time, I finally got tired of it, so the reason he can never find them, is because there aren't any. If he would just find the dirty clothes basket, he'd ALWAYS have those items clean. ALWAYS! Even our 4 year old son does a better job of getting his clothes there...and he's FOUR!
I have a couple of old high school friends who I'm always teasing for being OCD about cleaning their homes. Yet, I have this obsession with sheets. Seriously? Hello, pot, meet kettle!
I am not a neat freak at all. I enjoy a clean house, but it's near impossible to keep that way for any length of time. My kids run right behind me and return it to it's original state! So, I've completely given up on the immaculate house pipe dream. Plus, a few dirty dishes and a few specks of dust never hurt anybody. Like, I said, IMMACULATE my house is not, but clean it is. It's vacuumed every night before bed and picked up and tidy.
My cleaning day is Monday, because that is the day of the week that I have ZERO activities going on. So, on that note, I should get to it.

Lost & Still Not Found
So, what is it with toddlers and their obsession with taking things and hiding them, especially things of importance? The item in question at this particular moment is my cell phone. Ahh, yes, the trusty cell phone. About a month ago, my 2 1/2 year old daughter got in my purse and took my cell phone, and to this day, it's still unaccounted for. I wasn't too concerned at first, because I figured it would turn up somewhere. Boy, was I wrong?! We have searched every nook and cranny, every hiding place we thought it might possibly be, and still no cell phone.
My mother is highly irritated because she can't get a hold of me, and because it's her phone. I'm on her plan, and she is upset because the phone was expensive. I understand that, but does she honestly believe that I'm excited about not being able to communicate with any of my family and friends because I left my purse to where my daughter could get it? I'm really frustrated, with not only my daughter, but with myself as well.
Maybe one day, it'll turn up. But my gut tells me that it's sitting at the local landfill in a million pieces. Yes, I think it got thrown away. My kids love to hide things in the trash can. I've found everything from pacifiers to sippy cups to baby dolls in there. Unfortunately, the trash can was never a place I thought of looking the night the darn thing went missing. Until then, I'll keep looking.
In closing, I have learned a very valuable lesson from this experience, and that is to always keep my purse away from my kids AND to ALWAYS check the trash can when things go missing!

Pardon me. I'm a "virgin"
This is the first time I've ever blogged (well, unless you count myspace), so bare with me. I'm a person who thinks better on paper, or in this case, in a blog. I think whoever came up with this blogging thing is a genius. I mean, it's awesome!
Let me start by letting you know that I'm a mother of 5 kids ages 12, 4, 2 1/2, and 18 month old twins. I have been married to my husband, Jeremy for 4 years on May 21. I stay at home and home school our children. I am not college educated, but would some day like to go back to college and either become a Labor & Delivery Nurse or an Adoption Counselor.
I look forward to sharing with the blogging community the things that go on in my every day life, but will also talk about faith, politics, recipes, television, and whatever happens to be on my mind at that particular time.
I can't wait to get into this, and if you have any advice for a "blogging virgin," such as myself, please feel free to share! Thanks for reading!
Until next time....
